THISSA returns to the scene after a three-year hiatus from putting out music. sweet DEMI is a tone-setter for an ambitious year (and decade) for THISSA. The production is by none other than CXTCH XXII who is also a Mahikeng-native. The mellow, bass-driven groove of the instrumentation is complimented well by SMITTY’s well-delivered flows that are accompanied by thought-provoking ideologies, fears, aspirations, and boastful one-liners. This could well be considered THISSA’s best work yet.
sweet DEMI is available for purchase from THISSA.co.za; as well as for streaming on all major platforms.
With a lush backing provided by duo producers NaughtWun, THISSA delivers one of his more personal offerings under his alter-ego: SMITTY BACALL. Driven by classic boom-bap drums fused with a psychedelic atmosphere; ‘almostPERFECT‘ finds SMITTY exploring themes of self-introspection, paranoia, perception and fear as he tries to explain (to himself mostly) his purpose and identity in the music industry.
‘ABUTI’ is a high-charged banger by THISSA. This is his first official single since ‘Grow Up, Thissa’; and continues his new motswako-laced narrative heard first on ‘This Goes Out’. The message on ‘ABUTI’ reads like a playful re-introduction to the Mafikeng-born rapper.
THISSA is backed by production from Abza; which allows the rapper to fuse motswako and trap for an interesting take on where he is creatively in 2016.

Don’t Stop is a lush mixture of easy-listening and lyricism. The blending of 2C and THISSA on this song serves as homage to the classic, jazzy hip-hop mood; with a touch of new age percussion. Raps by JADED, and music by NaughtWun.
